+ Three missions across the field
Each mission is a short ordered path through the atlas. The briefing describes the thing without naming it; the signal readout tells you how warm you are; nothing is ever wrong, and Show me is there the whole time. Everything you log stays marked on the map.
Every measurement, date and claim in this atlas traces to something below. Where a finding is recent enough to still be argued about, the entry says so and the reader is pointed at the paper rather than a summary of it. Nothing here is asserted from memory, and where a number could not be sourced, the field was left out rather than filled in.
+ Many scales, one map
That is the whole difficulty. Everything on this map was measured from one moving point two-thirds of the way out from the centre, through dust, from inside the disc — which is why so much of it has been revised in the last five years, and why the gold rings mark the entries where something changed recently.
Forty points of interest at galactic scale. Thirty more inside the Solar System, on orbits solved from published elements — and eight more circling a star forty light-years out, packed tighter than Mercury's orbit around the Sun. Every claim carries its source.
